The Project Engineer will be responsible for leading transportation design projects from concept through completion. This position requires a mix of technical, project management, and interpersonal skills to ensure successful completion of tasks within budget and time constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project teams in the completion of various transportation design projects.
- Define project scope, budgets, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Perform engineering calculations, feasibility studies, cost estimations, and other technical tasks related to the project.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of team members and review their work for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and laws.
- Conduct meetings with internal and external stakeholders and keep them informed on project progress.
- Prepare and review design drawings and specifications using CADD, TxDOT, Microstation Design, and Civil 3D.
- Manage and monitor project costs.
- Evaluate alternatives and make recommendations for the most cost-effective design solutions.
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in the design and/or construction of transportation projects.
- Knowledge of ABET, EAC, and other applicable codes and regulations.
- Experience in task leadership and project management.
- Proficiency in CADD, TxDOT, Microstation Design, and Civil 3D.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or the ability to obtain one.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
