Mechanical / Industrial Estimator - Structural Steel, Process Piping is a key position that requires a detail-oriented individual to provide accurate estimates for structural steel and process piping projects. The estimator will be responsible for managing the entire process from bid preparation, to cost estimates, to value engineering and analysis.
Position Overview:
The Mechanical / Industrial Estimator - Structural Steel, Process Piping will be responsible for preparing estimates for structural steel and process piping projects. The estimator will review project documents such as drawings, specifications, and proposal requests to identify scope of work and build accurate cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
Gather and analyze project documents to create detailed cost estimates
Create and manage multi-discipline estimates for structural steel and process piping
Develop cost models for different project scenarios
Develop value engineering and analysis to ensure competitive pricing
Assess scope of work to ensure estimates are complete and accurate
Work with other estimators and project managers to ensure estimates are in line with budget and project guidelines
Keep current with trends in the industry, including materials, labor, and costs
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field not required but a plus
2-5+ years of experience in estimating for structural steel and process piping
Proficient in CAD, MS Office, and estimating software
Knowledge of industry standards and codes
Highly organized and analytical with excellent attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
