With over 75 years of experience, this multidisciplinary architectural firm has played a pivotal role in reshaping the New York City skyline and beyond. Specializing in large-scale residential, hospitality, mixed-use, and commercial developments, they have completed more than 3,500 projects worldwide. Their portfolio includes luxury condominiums, affordable housing, senior living facilities, and public institutions.

We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Design Director to lead one of our large-scale residential design teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large-scale residential(multi-family/condo/mixed-use) architecture, a passion for design excellence, and the ability to inspire and mentor a team of talented architects and designers.

Qualifications

10+ years of architectural experience
Architect license is required
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture
Must have hands-on experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD
Strong client communication experience
Previous New York City residential experience

Responsibilities:

Lead the design process for residential projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality and innovative design solutions.
Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, needs, and budget, and translate these into compelling design concepts.
Oversee the development of design presentations, drawings, and specifications.
Manage and mentor a team of architects and designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability standards.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate into design solutions.
Represent the firm at client meetings, industry events, and public presentations.
