Position Overview:

A Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for automated manufacturing processes. This includes programming and troubleshooting HMI and PLC systems, as well as selecting and integrating components such as motors, sensors, and robots. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation and experience working with a variety of controls systems and software.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, program, and troubleshoot HMI and PLC systems for automated manufacturing processes
Select and integrate components such as motors, sensors, and robots into control systems
Create and maintain control schematics and electrical diagrams using software such as AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, SolidWorks, or Solid Edge
Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues with control systems
Collaborate with other engineers and team members to design and implement control systems that meet project requirements
Ensure compliance with safety standards and perform lock out tag out (LOTO) procedures when necessary
Monitor and optimize control systems to improve efficiency and productivity
Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance teams

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience working as a Controls Engineer
Expertise in programming and troubleshooting HMI and PLC systems
Proficiency with software and systems such as Archestra, Allen Bradley, Modicon, Beckhoff, Siemens, Factory Talk, RS View, WinCC, Wonderware, ABB, Motoman, and Fanuc
Experience with robotics and familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, SolidWorks, or Solid Edge for creating control schematics and electrical diagrams
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including fluid dynamics
Ability to design and implement control systems, including selecting and integrating components
Knowledge of power and motor systems and their interaction with control systems
