Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Tax Preparer to manage financial records and prepare tax returns for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and proficiency in bookkeeping practices to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Prepare and file individual and business tax returns accurately and in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Generate and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Assist clients with tax planning and compliance strategies to optimize financial outcomes.
Work with clients to ensure all necessary documents and financial records are collected and organized.
Stay updated with tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards to ensure compliance and best practices.
Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and regulatory agencies as needed.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation.
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and tax preparation software (Lacerte, UltraTax, or similar).
Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and financial reporting requirements.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is a plus.
